Variety Backyard Bash... a message from our owner, Sean Vickery.
6 Days. One Road Trip to Remember.
Some of you might remember me mentioning the Variety Bash last year. Well, I`m back for 2026 - and this year it looks a little different, in the best possible way.
From 9 to 14 August, I`ll be hitting the road as part of the Variety Backyard Bash - a six-day driving adventure through regional NSW, from Bella Vista through Mudgee, Dubbo, Griffith, Albury and Cowra, finishing up with a Gala Night in Bathurst.
It`s a reimagined take on the Bash - more time in towns, more connection with local communities, and the same incredible purpose at the heart of it all. Every stop along the way supports kids who are sick, disadvantaged or living with disability. Last year left a real mark on me. The kids we met, the communities we visited - it stays with you
Every dollar raised goes directly towards giving those kids a fair go. That matters enormously to me, and to our whole team.

Paul & Loryn love Erowal Bay.
The beauty, the community, the serenity... none of that was ever in question.
But the house? That was a different story. So they made the decision to rebuild.
This is a moment a lot of homeowners reach. You love where you live, truly love it, but the house doesn`t fit anymore. Maybe it was built for a different family, a different era, a different way of living. Maybe it`s simply run its course.
And yet the block, the street, the view, the feeling of home in that particular spot, none of that has changed. Thats exactly the case for Paul & Loryn. So their Mandalay home is now underway on their block in Erowal Bay, and we couldn`t be more excited for their journey!
Sometimes the answer isn`t moving on. It`s building again, right where you already are.

SIXTEEN years 🫶🏽
When we think about what makes our team what it is, Mel comes straight to mind.
One of the first to join our G.J. Gardner family, Mel has been a cornerstone of the Shoalhaven office (and all others to follow) for sixteen years. As Senior Construction Admin, she keeps things running smoothly behind the scenes, works hard, yet always finds time for a laugh along the way (big kudos for that!)
Sixteen years of showing up. Sixteen years of dedication. Sixteen years of being the backbone of what we do.
We’re clearly doing something right for our staff to stand by our side for this incredible amount of time!
