THAT’S A WRAP…
on the 2026 Variety Backyard Bash - and what an adventure!!
Our team “The Sharkies” and trusty ride, Delma, completed the six-day journey, finishing in Bathurst and raising an incredible $60,000 for Variety - the Children’s Charity. That’s well over their initial target of $45,000 - and all achieved in a shorter event timeframe this year, with factors like higher petrol prices shaping the route and schedule. Didn’t slow them down one bit!
The Sharkies also took home Mug of the Bash - running out of fuel just 30 metres from the finish line in Bathurst, and requiring a gerry can delivered to her door to refuel! Honestly, you can’t make this stuff up! ✌🏽
A very special mention to the Toyota forklift crew in Albury who stepped in to help fix some braking issues along the way. That kind of generosity from strangers is exactly what this event is all about.
